Timber frames from several hundred years ago still exist, even on this rainy island we share.  Some stand proud and are recognised as remarkable examples of their time, like the Feathers Hotel or Ye Olde Bull Ring Tavern in Ludlow or the many Georgian brick faced buildings throughout the Midlands which conceal older timber structures behind.

We at Durie Heritage are able to identify the various different parts and the material used, identify defects and determine the causes of these defects.  With this knowledge, and our recommendations for repairs, you will then be able to programme in the necessary work to ensure your property is not only repaired correctly but that you will also understand the various maintenance issues which will reduce the risks of future defects.

Alison and I also attended Surveying Timber Frame Buildings Training presented by Stephen Boniface in Little Hall, Lavenham where we reinforced our knowledge and understanding of timber frames, their construction and defects.  Lavenham is a wonderful place to visit too.
